Avanade is looking for a Microsoft Business Intelligence Senior Consultant that possesses professional consulting attributes, exceptional technical skills, excellent communication skills, strong client focus, and commitment to detail. As a Microsoft Business Intelligence Senior Consultant, you will be responsible for assistance with opportunity development, design, and delivery on a variety of initiatives such as Microsoft SQL Server implementation and optimization, data integration, EDM, predictive analytics and big data analytics. You will also apply functional knowledge and technical expertise to the design of systems to support customer needs, and you will contribute to Avanade’s vast repository of intellectual property.
Responsibilities:
- Design and implement business intelligence and analytics solutions for a wide range of medium to enterprise-level initiatives.
- Deliver technical solutions as per specified plans, deliverables, costs and timelines.
- Manage multiple responsibilities and assignments while maintaining a high level of quality.
- Work in team environments that span functional and geographic boundaries.
- Assist with pre-sales support and clearly articulating technical issues, solutions and activities to colleagues and customers.
- Contribute to Data Warehouse and Big Data solution design and architecture.
- Estimate effort on both structured and non-structured data projects.
- Contribute to entity relationship modeling, functional specification development, logical data modeling, logical dimensional data modeling and source to target mapping.
- Analyze requirements from functional specifications and own technical specification.
- Ensure design and development take into account all aspects of requirements - including data quality, customer experience, architecture, scalability, security & operations - so that software is fit for purpose.
- Facilitate sessions to drive business intelligence requirements clarity with business and solution delivery.
- Identify and define business rules associated with data including data integrity/constraint requirements.
- Perform detailed analysis of business process to define data requirements for new business needs.
- Act as data steward by validating data quality for deployment of data enhancements and ongoing quality assurance.
- Promote, establish and maintain data governance routines.
- Facilitate self-service BI implementation and training.
- Evaluate opportunities for big data solution implementation and develop recommendations.
Qualifications
Requirements: - 8+ years of progressive industry experience working in a medium to large IT environment as a subject matter expert in Microsoft infrastructure solutions;
- Hands-on experience with data modeling, database design, and data profiling.
- Experience developing enterprise information topologies and data flows that support the customer’s business requirements.
- Experience in the design and deployment in large scale database environments including collecting data, retrieving data, and cleansing data.
- Data Warehousing and Business Intelligence expertise.
- Expertise on Microsoft SQL Server (SSIS, SSRS, SSAS, MDS)
- Expertise with PowerBI tools (PowerPivot, PowerView, PowerQuery).
- Expertise in Data Modeling & Data Administration Tools.
- Experience in Master Data Management (MDM).
- Expertise / exposure to lineage data.
- Experience with data profiling and cleansing.
- Experience with full software life cycle development.
- Systems and data analysis skills.
- Experience developing functional requirements documentation.
- Conceptualization, analytical, logic skills.
- Experience with agile practices (Scrum, XP, etc.)
- Ability to working as individual contributor, team member, and lead as needed.
- Strong organizational skills and ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Strong customer service focus and attention to detail.
- Ability to travel.
- Ability to communicate highly technical information via written, oral, or in person.
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, computer information systems or related study.
Nice to have:
- Big Data implementations experience (Hadoop, HDInsight, Cloudera, MapR, etc.)
- Predictive Analytics experience (SAS, SSPS, Predixion, etc.)
- Industry recognized certifications and memberships (MSCE Data Platform, CBIP, etc.)
