What’s in it for you?
As the Business Intelligence Solution Architect, you will participate actively in presales activities including public presentation, workshops and estimations, support relationship based selling and assume a technical lead role transitioning sales from qualifying to closing by working closely with sales team and other technical consultants. The Solution Architect is also instrumental in working closely with program managers and bid teams internally to maximize the business development capability and leverage Avanade capabilities.
You will facilitate and execute requirements gathering during analysis and design phases, assist in driving Business Development initiatives with major stakeholders, including customers, sales team and marketing. The Business Intelligence Solution Architect will work with the team closely and help develop and refine the best practices for BI projects.
Responsibilities:
- Participate in all aspects of sales activities such as public presentation, workshop, demonstration and Proof Of Concepts.
- Lead a Business Intelligence proposal from Solutioning to estimates including writings for the final commercial proposal.
- Oversee the ongoing development and operations of a business intelligence architecture that enables fact-based decision making and ad hoc analysis and insight generation.
- Collaborating with end users to identify needs and opportunities for improved data management and delivery.
- Improving and streamlining processes regarding data flow and data quality to improve data accuracy, viability and value.
- Mentoring the Business Intelligence team but also other Service Lines for cross selling optimization.
- Participate in the hiring of new permanent staff and contractors.
Qualifications
- The Business Intelligence Solution Architect should have minimum 10 years of consulting experience in implementing and delivering business intelligence solutions for enterprise, ideally have a Degree in Computer Science or equivalent.
- Strong OLAP SSAS skills, analytics tools experience with PerformancePoint Services / PowerPivot / PowerView, MS platform knowledge and skills (including SQL Server 2005/2008/2012 for SSAS, RDBMS, SSIS, SSRS)
- Strong management and leadership skills with a proactive participative management style, and instill and reinforce a strong customer service and business-oriented ethic in the entire team
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to confidently communicate (verbally and written) to all levels of the business from operational to executives
- Extensive pre-sales experience in Solution envisioning, building demonstration, estimates, proposal development, customer presentations/workshop conduct
- Good understanding of sales strategies, tactics and cycles
- Good problem solving and analytical skills
- Ability to manage and work with a culturally diverse population
- Ability to make decisions and deliver even within ambiguous situations
- Exposure to non-Microsoft BI tools is required
